Maui police searching for alleged armed robbery suspects after mall incident

KAHULUI (HawaiiNewsNow) - Two suspects are on the run Wednesday night after allegedly holding a woman at Gun point on Maui.

According to Maui Police, they say a man used a gun to demand a 55-year-old woman hand over her purse. It happened just before 1 p.m. at the Queen Kaahumanu Shopping Center in Kahului.

Police say he and a woman then took the purse and fled down a parking structure staircase near Macy’s.

Police responded and combed the area, but they were unable to locate the suspects.

MPD says the suspects are both in their 30s or 40s.

Police were unable to provide images of the suspects, but they provided the following descriptions:

The man is described as about 6-feet-tall, with short black hair and brown eyes. He was wearing a light blue t-shirt and brown surf shorts with a yellow logo on the left front leg and slippers.

The female is about 5-feet 10-inches with black hair and brown eyes. She was wearing a light blue shirt, jeans and slippers and had her hair in a pony tail.

MPD warns not to approach these suspects. If you see them or have any tips related to the incident, you’re asked to call Maui Police at 244-6400 or Crime Stoppers at 242-6966.
