HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Don’t look now, but the Rainbow Warrior basketball team has won four games in a row after taking down last year’s Big West Conference tournament winner, Cal State Fullerton, tonight at the Stan Sheriff Center by a score of 79-68.
Hawaii (10-5, 1-0 BWC) battled with the Titans for the majority of the game but the ‘Bows were able to make some clutch shots down the stretch from the likes of Eddie Stansberry and Sheriff Drammeh.
Stansberry knocked down two-dagger three-pointers down the stretch en route to scoring 16 points on 4-of-8 shooting from the perimeter.
Four players finished with double-figures on the night for the Warriors, but Drammeh stole the show.
The senior guard tied a career-high with 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting including 4-of-7 from deep off the bench. He also hauled in six rebounds and racked up two assists in the process.
Drammeh also did well on the defensive end of the floor, guarding Fullerton’s Kyle Allman who tallied 14 points on 5-of-12 shooting. Allman has scored in double-digits in each game this season.
With the win, Hawaii begins conference play with a win and improves to 10-5 on the season. The ‘Bows will hit the road to take on CSUN on Thursday, January 17th.
