Firefighters working to put out a brush fire on Oahu’s east side

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Honolulu firefighters extinguished a large brush fire on Oahu’s east side Saturday.

Around 3:45 p.m., emergency crews received a call about the flames near Alan Davis Beach. The first unit responded and arrived on scene just after 4:10 p.m.

Additional units were dispatched to the fire shortly after. Smoke was seen from miles around, including hikers at Makapuu who sent video to Hawaii News Now.

No structures were threatened.
