Officials see spike in consumer scams during holiday season

HONOLULU (HawaiiNewsNow) - Officials are asking utility customers to be aware of scammers during this holiday season.
Hawaiian Electric and the office of Consumer Protection say there has been a spike in scams this year and that utility customers have been the main targets.
For National Utility Scam Awareness Week, utilities providers are teaming up to stop scammers.
