Movie Review: GREEN BOOK

The new movie, GREEN BOOK, is about the friendship that develops between a black musician and his white driver as they travel through the Deep South in the year 1962 and it may well be the feel good movie of the year. Based on a true story, this film is a well acted, heart warming comedy-drama about a sophisticated Jamaican pianist and the rough-around-the-edges Italian American nightclub bouncer who drives him from concert to concert in the Jim Crow South. Viggo Mortensen (who gained 40 pounds for this role) and Mahershala Ali are extremely convincing as two very different men who discover they have more in common than either thought possible.
