HONOLULU (KHNL) - Honolulu Police will be setting up impaired driver checkpoints from Thursday March 5 until April 30. The checkpoints will be set up during the upcoming weekends and holidays including, but not limited to, Saint Patrick's Day, spring break, and Easter.
The checkpoints will be set up at unannounced times and locations.
As of March 3rd, 2009, 17 people have been killed in 15 traffic collisions. Alcohol and or speed were factors in at least six of those crashes, according to police.
