Honolulu (KHNL) - The Hawaii High School Athletic Association girls basketball State championship began with 12 teams, and now it's down to four.
After Wednesday's quarterfinal matches, the top four teams in the State remain with a chance to bring home the title.
Top ranked Punahou, led by Janelle Nomura, defeated Aiea Na Alii 53-36. Nomura led all scorers with 28 points on 8-12 shooting.
Second ranked Konawaena breezed by Baldwin in their game winning 50-28. Emalia Galdeira dropped in 17 points while grabbing eight rebounds.
Third ranked Farrington used a 20-6 3rd quarter to propel themselves past Iolani 68-51. While fourth ranked Lahainaluna took down Roosevelt 58-44. Two-time MIL Player of the Year Milika Taufa led the Lady Lunas with 24 points, 11 rebounds and five blocked shots.
The tournamnet continues Thursday in the semifinal round. It'll be Punahou versus Lahainaluna at 5pm, and Konawaena against Farrington at 7pm. All games will take place at the Neal Blaisdell Arena
