MANOA (KHNL) - Losers of six straight games, the Rainbow Wahine basketball team is winless in 2009. However, the team is only a quarter way through conference play and the Wahine say they're still fighting.

This Friday Hawaii takes on Fresno State, a team they lost to earlier this year, 78-50, then on Sunday they host Utah State.

UH is confident they have the ability to win both matchups, but with 12 conference games left, they know improving has to come sooner before later.

"I think it's two big games for us because it's at home, and then we're on the road for another week, so if we can clinch these two wins then it gives us more confidence on the road," said sophomore guard Keisha Kanekoa.

"The WAC record is 0-4, but I don't want to think other teams come to Hawaii thinking this is an easy win, we're definitely fighting back and working hard and going for a win 100%," said team captain Dita Liepkalne.

Friday's game tips off at 7, Sunday's game begins at five, and both can be seen live on K5 the home team.
