McCully update: water coming back on, street still closed

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Board of Water Supply (BWS) officials say that they expect to restore water service to homes and businesses on McCully street at around 6:30 PM Thursday night. However the road will remain closed while crews repave the street.

BWS crews had to replace 50 feet of water main, causing substantial damage to the roadway.

A water main break caused the closure of McCully Street in both directions between Date and Citron Streets Wednesday afternoon. The water main first broke Tuesday afternoon, followed by another break at 3:00 AM Wednesday morning and again Wednesday afternoon.

46 homes and businesses are without water. Water wagons have been placed at 916 McCully Street.
