KAHALA (KHNL) - Tadd Fujikawa is back! The 18 year old Moanalua senior proved on Friday that his 2007 run was no fluke. Fujikawa began the day with a birdie, and he finished his round with another one. After 36 holes he's at even par and sitting in a tie for 51st.

"It feels good, I've worked hard, I've worked really really hard and I just want to go out there and play the best that I can, and they say the conditions are going to be really nice, so I'm excited about that because it was miserable out there today and yesterday, it wasn't much except I played really well, so that made it a little bit better," said Fujikawa after his round of 69.

As for our other local golfers, Dean Wilson bogeyed his final hole of his round. That shot would eventually be the one that keeps him from playing on in the weekend as he misses the cut by one stroke with a two-over-par.

Parker McLachlin struggled for a second straight day. He was six over on the day after nine holes, and eventually finished 10-over-par for the tournament.

Iolani freshman Lorens Chan also struggled on his front nine, carding five bogeys and a double bogey. He finished tied for 126th seven-over-par.

John Lynch shot a two over 72 on Friday, but he finished his tournament tied with McLachlin at 10-over-par.

Tadd tees off on Saturday at 9:15am from hole number one.
