HONOLULU (KHNL) - Dangerously strong winds and surf are in the forecast for much of the state. In fact, many people will have the day off Friday because of the weather.
Here's all the information you need to know:
Administrative leave has been granted for all non-essential state employees on Kaua'i, O'ahu, Maui, Moloka'i and Lana'i.
That's every island except the Big Island.
Also, the counties of Oahu and Maui are allowing all non-essential city workers to stay home.
Kauai city and county employees, however, are not off the hook. They must still must report to work on Friday.
And again, the administrative leave does not apply to city and county employees on the Big Island.
