HONOLULU (KHNL) - It's ten days and counting until the "Big Switch" to digital.  The Federal Communications Commission has opened a call center to ensure a smooth transition for Hawaii residents.

From questions about how to install a converter box, to how to go about applying for a coupon, starting today, staffers will be on hand six days a week to answer your questions regarding the DTV switch.

"It's really important that people know about the transition especially ones watching television over the air because on January 15th, all of the TV stations are switching their signal from analog to digital," said Deputy Project Manager June Gonzales.

Hawaii makes the "Big Switch" on January 15.  The call center will be open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. and Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to noon.

The number to call is (808) 541-2388.
