HONOLULU (KHNL) - After their loss at Boise State on October 17th, the Warriors re-focused on their team goal of reaching the Hawai'i Bowl.

Since that time, the Warriors have won 4 of 5 games, capped off by last night's victory over Washington State.

"they're a Pac-10 team and the way they feel about any WAC school is that they chalk it up as a win, no matter if they're at the bottom of the barrel or at the top. They feel like they can beat any WAC opponent" said Warrior Linebacker, Adam Leonard.

Historically, the Warriors haven't fared well against Pac-10 teams, going just 13-and-34 all-time. But with their victory over the Cougars, UH has now won 3 straight at home against Pac-10 opponents and most importantly are now headed to the Sheraton Hawai'i Bowl.

"you know it feels great definitely we had a lot of fans jump off ship and we always talked about as a team we gotta stick together and you know we had a lot of adversity early in the season, and as a team we just stuck together. You gotta credit the seniors they give us great leadership it feels good to get to a bowl game for them" said Warriors Quarterback, Greg Alexander.

The win also assures Greg McMackin of a winning record in his first year as Warriors head coach, an accomplishment, he takes great pride in.

"I've been a head coach at a small college and never had a losing season and I hope I never have a losing season here" said McMackin.

The Warriors finish the regular season at home next weekend against Big East Champion, Cincinnati.
