Crews finish repairing broken water main

PEARL CITY (KHNL) - Board of Water Supply crews have finished repairing a 12-inch main that broke on Waimano Home Road in Pearl City early Monday morning. 

Water service was restored to all customers at about 3:30 p.m. 

The main break was reported shortly before 5:00 a.m. at the home between Hoolaulea and Hoomalu streets near the Pearl City Library.

About 90 customers were affected, including all of Luehu St. and about ten customers on Waimano Home Rd.

BWS crews are currently backfilling the trench and then Grace Pacific will repave the road. 

Repaving is expected to continue until about 4 a.m. Tuesday morning. 

The right lane mauka-bound between Hoolaulea and Hoomalu Sts remain closed.
