Tickets for Obama's inaugural ball sold out

WASHINGTON, D.C. (KHNL) - The Hawaii State Society Presidential Inaugural Ball announced that tickets for president-elect Obama's island themed inaugural ball are sold out.

Organizers say all 750 tickets to the January 20th ball at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel in Washington, D.C. sold for $200 each.

This marks the first time in history that the Aloha State will be the focus of a Ball in the nation's capital, celebrating the inauguration of the new President of the United States.

Hawaii's government, civic and corporate leaders are expected to attend, including Governor Linda Lingle, U.S. Senators Daniel Inouye and Daniel Akaka, U.S. Congressman Neil Abercrombie and U.S. Congresswoman Mazie Hirono.
