Obama receives broad support in Hawaii

HONOLULU (KHNL) - There are not enough adjectives to describe excitement across the country and around the world as Hawaii-born Barack Obama is elected as the 44th president of the United States, the first African-American in our country's history to take its highest office.

No surprise, president-elect Barack Obama received broad support here in Hawaii.

147 of 339 precincts have reported in.

In Hawaii, Obama, after the second print out, has received nearly three quarters of the vote.

With more than 200,000 votes counted so far he's received 73.3% to McCain's 24.6%.
