Alaska Airlines inaugurates Anchorage-Maui service

SEATTLE, Washington (KHNL) - Alaska Airlines inaugurates its seasonal service between Anchorage and Maui Friday.

The new flights, which operate three days a week, will continue through April 25, 2009.

"There is a unique link between the people and geography of the state of Alaska and the islands of Hawaii that we are happy to celebrate with these new flights," said Bill MacKay, Alaska Airlines' senior vice president of Alaska.  "We're excited to add Maui to the list of other warm-weather destinations that we'll service this winter."

The new flights are operated with Boeing 737-800 aircraft, accomodating 16 passengers in first class and 141 in the main cabin.
