At number 3: Part of a Kalihi house collapses

"It was raining and stuff. We know the ground was kind of moist and stuff," said tenant Jessie Taylor.

Part of a house collapsed on Gulick Avenue in Kalihi. Fire crews searched through the collapsed structure for anyone who might be trapped inside. Witnesses say they heard a loud crash and people yelling for help.

No one was found in the rubble.

Number 2: Killer whale dies on Kauai's south shore

"Killer whales are very social species and to have a lone, single animal in this body condition on the beach, points to an animal that's in big trouble," NOAA Marine Mammal Response Coordinator David Schofield said.

An ailing 20-foot killer whale was discovered on Kauai's south shore. Crews were forced to put it to sleep, but before they can do that, the whale died.

Crews pulled it out of the water and hauled it to private lands.

And the number 1 story: Senator Obama's grandmother turns 86 Sunday

"Of course, I wish her a happy birthday. And I really relate to the fact that she was such an influence on Senator Obama because my grandmother raised me too," said Congresswoman Mazie Hirono (D-Hawaii).

A remarkable birthday for a remarkable woman. Senator Barack Obama's grandmother turned 86. Many across the state are sending their congratulations and their best wishes for a speedy recovery to Obama's beloved toot, who helped raised him.
