At number 3: Obama returns to Hawaii to visit ailing grandmother

Senator Barack Obama returns to Hawaii to see his 86-year-old grandmother, who is gravely ill.

She was released from the hospital last week and is resting at her home on Oahu.

Obama canceled his events in Wisconsin and Iowa so that he can spend some time with her.

She raised Obama and helped put him through private school here in Hawaii.

Number 2: Abercrombie lashes out at Lingle

"To have the governor of the state of Hawaii disparaging someone who is after all born and raised in Hawaii and has carried on a campaign at this high level is a very, very sad day" said Abercrombie.

Congressman Neil Abercrombie lashed out at Governor Linda Lingle after statements she made recently on the mainland.

While campaigning for John McCain, Abercrombie says Lingle questioned Barack Obama's Hawaii ties.

A spokesman for Lingle says the comments were taken out of context and were in no way meant to disparage Senator Obama or his family members who still live here.
