Obama takes a stroll down memory lane

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Senator Barack Obama takes a brief walk down memory lane Friday morning.

The Democratic presidential candidate walked the streets of his old neighborhood in Honolulu, where he was born and spent much of his childhood.

Obama, wearing jeans, a black shirt and sandals, attracted a crowd of reporters and passerbys.

He was picked up by secret service in an SUV and returned to his grandmother's apartment.

Obama is in Hawaii to spend time with his ailing 85-year-old grandmother who helped raise him.

He arrived Thursday night and spent about an hour with Madelyn Dunham and revisited her again Friday morning.

Obama plans to leave Hawaii Friday night and return to the campaign trail on Saturday.
