Stephanie Van Loon was born and raised in Fresno California. She moved to Hawaii in 1996 where she worked in a number of restaurants as a server. She decided she wanted to make her cooking hobby a profession. She moved to San Francisco to attend the California Culinary Academy.
Upon graduation, Stephanie worked with wedding cake designer Susan Morgan of Elegant Cheesecakes in Half Moon Bay California. This experience really honed in on her attention to detail and love to create amazing edible art.
Stephanie moved back to Honolulu and worked for many great local chefs including Alan Wong, where she then decided it was time to open her own company. In 2005 Love at First Bite was born.
She has combined her two passions, creating beautiful edible works of art and simple delicious food. Love at First Bite specializes in wedding and special occasion cakes and small intimate catering.
In her spare time, Chef Steph loves to hang out with family and friends, watch football and baseball, and snuggle with her 5 adorable cats!
