Nuuanu reservoir catfishing season extended

HONOLULU (KHNL) -The catfish fishing season in Nuuanu Reservoir No. 4 has been extended until November 16 to accommodate the high number of applicants.  This season, more than 5,000 anglers have sent in application cards.

The extended season will replace the November season that is normally held each year.

To date 1,834 anglers have caught 1,691 catfish with the largest weighing in at 15 pounds.
The next catfishing season will begin Saturday, January 10, 2009.  

Starting December 1, 2008, prospective anglers may pick up applications for entry fishing cards at the Department of Land and Natural Resources' Division of Aquatic Resources at 1151 Punchbowl Street, Room 330, and from various licensing agents on O‘ahu.  Blank applications will not be mailed.  
The deadline for submitting applications in person will be 4 p.m. on Friday, December 19.  Mailed applications will be accepted with a postmark of Friday, December 19.
