Combine all ingredients in a saucepan. Heat until sugar melts and nuts are toasted. Pour out into a bowl to let cool. Might need you chop before serving.
Pear and Ginger compote:
½ cup butter ½ cup apple juice ½ cup brown sugar 2T minced ginger 4 pears, peeled, cored, and thinly sliced ¼ t cinnamon
In a sauté pan, heat the butter, apple juice, brown sugar and ginger until the sugar dissolves. Add the pears and cinnamon and cook until tender about 5 minutes. Serve warm over vanilla ice cream. Enjoy!
