HONOLULU (KHNL) -- A new magazine hitting Oahu's stands is aimed at the triathlon crowd. It's called Hawaii Sport Mag and it is the only one of its kind serving this community. Hawaii Sport Mag launched this year, aimed at Oahu's athletes.

Publisher Christian Friis said, "We are the only magazine covering running, swimming and biking."

The magazine is a one stop source for before and after races. "It tells the community about upcoming events, what they can expect, training programs, race results, pictures and so on," said Friis.

There are an estimated 15,000 serious triathletes on this island, but Friis and co publisher Tai Blechta are expanding their readership by targeting other sports. Friis said, "We're expanding out by having other sports like cross training. A lot of athletes use other sports both to get in shape and recover from injury."

Hawaii Sport is free and available at sporting and health food stores around Oahu. It comes out bi monthly.
