BWS continues to repair broken watermain

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Board of Water Supply crews are still repairing a broken 24-inch watermain on Kamehameha IV Road at the intersection of Pio Place.

One apartment building at 1531 Kamehameha IV Road is without water.

A water wagon has been placed in the building's parking lot to provide water to the affected residents.

The broken watermain was initially reported as a leak Tuesday at about 5:00 p.m.

While crews were working to repair the leak, it blew early Wednesday morning at about 1:00 a.m.

Work is expected to continue into the late evening.

The broken 24-inch main is being replaced as part of a current, ongoing water system improvement construction project.
