Eight people charged in Iolani Palace incident

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Eight people have been charged for an incident that happened at Iolani Palace in August.

James Akahi, Grace Akahi, Wayne Nunes, Waynette Nunes, Terry Kaahanui, Tanya Kaahanui and Vanessa Fimbres have been charged with Burglary in the Second Degree for allegedly breaking into the palace.

James Akahi's initial appearance in court is scheduled on October 6.  The others are set to an appearance Thursday, October 2.

An eighth person, Donald Love-Boltz, has been charged with Assault in the Second Degree for allegedly assaulting a palace employee.  His trial is set for the week of November 10.

If found guilty, they can face up to five years in prison and pay a $10,000 fine.
