HILO, Big Island (KHNL) - The 20th anniversary "Trash Art Show," featuring Hawaii artist recycle, will take place at the East Hawaii Cultural Center in Hilo.
The month long show will begin with a gala opening reception on Friday, October 3 from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Coordinator Juror Ira Ono, considered the father of recycled art in Hawaii, will be on hand with the Trash Fashion show, featuring designer Kue King and entertainment by Lava Jam Band.
Ono has been creating recycled art in Hawaii for more than 30 years.
"This 20th anniversary is an important one and I look forward to seeing all the unique and unusual pieces that our local artists create out of recycled materials," said Ono.
Ono has coordinated similar events for the City and County of Honolulu and Maui County.
