Delinquent residential refuse accounts to be closed

WAILUKU, Maui (KHNL) - Residential customers with delinquent refuse accounts that have not been paid in full by 4 p.m. on Monday, September 15 will be closed immediately, the County of Maui's Department of Environmental Management, Solid Waste Division, announced Thursday.

Refuse bills for the period of July 1 to December 31, 2008 were due July 31st. Residential customers are reminded that there will be a $30 service fee to reopen any account that is closed due to non-payment.

Payments may be dropped off at the Refuse & Landfill Accounts office located at One Main Plaza in Wailuku, 2200 Main Street, Suite 175.

Collection service hours are Mondays and Wednesdays from 8 a.m. - noon (closed Tuesdays and Thursdays); however, a drop box is available for payments made Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. - 4 p.m. Cash payments left at the drop box should be the exact amount due. Customers needing balance information may inquire by calling 270-1731 or by visiting the Accounts office Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. - 4 p.m.
