HONOLULU (KHNL) - This week's Top 3 Stories involve separate shootings that left a Waipahu man injured, a Kalihi teen dead and neighbors on Lanai stunned.


At number 3: Waipahu man injured

"Officers did scan the whole area, they're looking for the suspects so we're unable to locate the suspect at the moment," said a Honolulu police officer.

Honolulu police continue to look for suspects wanted for attempted murder.  They say three men opened fire inside this house on Hapapa Street in Waipahu Tuesday night.  Medics rushed a 37-year-old man to the hospital in good condition.


Number 2: Kalihi teen dead

"The motive for the fight or the shooting is undetermined at this time," said a Honolulu police officer. "We have not ruled out anything. However, it does not appear to be gang-related."

A Kalihi teen is dead following a shooting at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Police responded to a report of a large fight and gunfire early Monday morning.

An 18-year-old Kalihi teen was taken to the hospital where he died from multiple gunshot wounds.


And the number one story: Murder-suicide in Lanai

Police are investigating a murder-suicide case in Lanai City.

It happened Sunday afternoon. Neighbors say they heard gun shots and a woman screaming.

Police found the bodies of a 41-year-old man and his 31-year-old estranged wife at the front entrance of their home.

Investigators say the man shot his wife while she was in the process of moving out, then turned the gun on himself.
