HONOLULU (KHNL) - When the University of Hawaii Warriors football season starts this year at Aloha Stadium, spectators can expect to see some ongoing changes to the stadium.
The 33-year-old facility will be getting an $11 million improvement.
Construction includes replacing the portions of the metal roof deck in sections FF to KK and RR to T and covering the replacement and relocation of all roof-mounted. The balance of the metal roof deck will be replaced incrementally by sections over the course of several years to work around the stadium's busy seasons.
Governor Linda Lingle says the project is to ensure the continued safety of stadium spectators, workers and event participants.
