HONOLULU (KHNL) - The fate of a man accused of killing a pet pig in Mililani is once again in the hands of a jury.

Joseph Calarruda is charged with theft of livestock, a felony punishable by up to five years in prison. His first trial last year ended with a hung jury.

Prosecutors say Calarruda and his hunting dogs went to a private farm two years ago, and killed six-year-old Porky in front of horrified witnesses.

The defendant maintains he wasn't there, and that another hunter slaughtered the pig.
