HONOLULU (KHNL) - Drivers, get ready. Nearly 60,000 college and private school students will head back to school beginning next week.

That, of course, means more cars on Oahu's roadways. On Monday, state and city officials kicked off the annual 'Beat the School Jam' campaign to remind commuters about alternatives such as carpooling, bicycling, walking, or riding the bus.

Drivers are urged to maintain their cars properly, so they won't stall and create traffic tie-ups.
