Mainland drugstore buys out Longs Drugs

HONOLULU (KHNL) - A mainland drugstore chain is making "Longs a part of their day" by purchasing the entire chain of stores.

The drug store chain "CVS" announced it would buy more than 500 longs drugs stores in Hawaii, California, Nevada and Arizona for nearly $3 billion.

Those mainland stores are slated to change over to the CVS name, but nothing's expected to change here in the islands.

The Hawaii stores are expected to keep the name "Longs Drugs".
