SALT LAKE (KHNL) - An update Tuesday night on the young man who was shot in a home-invasion style robbery Monday morning in Salt Lake. Timothy Lapitan is still in critical condition at the Queen's Medical Center.

The Lapitan home was quiet Tuesday morning, a stark contrast to Monday when police teams combed the streets, looking for five gunmen who stormed in and shot 19-year-old Timothy Lapitan in the stomach. He lives on the 1,200-block of Hulakui Drive with his parents and relatives. They've been in a state of shock ever since it happened.

"So many calls," said Antonio Lapitan, the shooting victim's father. "Doctors calling yesterday, last night over here. It's stable a little bit but it's not final. It's not good."

He had surgery at the Queen's Medical Center Tuesday afternoon. His family was there, to be with him, and to pray for him.

"It's all nervous right now," said Lapitan. "All bad condition right now. That's all I can say right now."

Neighbors think the shooting may have been gang related, but police won't confirm that. They're still checking on leads, hoping to solve the mystery of this home invasion shooting.

No one's been arrested as of Tuesday afternoon, but police are still checking on leads.
