HONOLULU (KHNL) - Beach goers at Magic Island will not be able to shower any time soon.

Honolulu City and County officials say the knobs to turn on the water has been broken and it needs to be replaced.

But some people have also taken off some of the plastic shower heads to get more water pressure.

This leaves the showers unusable and some people are saying that's rude.

I think it's a little disrespectful, considering it's one of the main tourist attractions in the United States," said visitor Michael Vu. "Ala Moana is my favorite beach out here and as you can see, kids using the showers as well."

Honolulu Parks and Recreation officials say the replacement knobs have to be shipped in from the mainland.

They don't know when these showers will be up and running again.
