WAIPAHU (KHNL) - School is back in session this week, and that means parents are faced with shopping for school supplies.

A new online service makes back-to-school shopping hassle free.

It's something not every parent looks forward to, battling the crowds, not finding the right materials or not finding any at all. One parent found a way to make shopping for school supplies easier for all parents.

As some students dread heading back to school, many parents probably dread the back-to-school shopping. Especially for all the supplies required by the schools.

John Kim, a father of three, knows how difficult shopping for supplies can be.

"I have two older daughters, I had to buy their school supplies every single year and every single year we do the same thing, drive from store to store, parking, stand in long lines, I said there's got to be an easier way to do this," said Kim.

He founded School Tools Ohana, a Web-based company that's run out of his Waipahu home.

"I have majority of all the school supplies that's required by the schools, the prices are competitive, I have everything in stock."

What's unique about this site is that it provides pre-packaged school supply kits for each specific school, grade and class.

And he makes free delivery, sometimes door-to-door, for packages more than $50.

Something he says his customers appreciate.

"They're really happy, when I drop off the box to them or package, this is a wonderful idea."

An idea that once took off out of frustration, is now a blessing for many parents.

School Tools Ohana currently offers pre-packaged school supply kits, to more than 80 schools across the state.
