NORTH SHORE (KHNL) - Pupukea road was closed Friday morning after a single car crash puts one woman in the hospital.

"I Came around the corner and there was a car flipped over gas was leaking out everywhere fluid was everywhere," Kevin Easley said.

Easley was one of the first people on the scene. It happened just after 7 am, the single car crash left the driver pinned under her late-model convertible. A car many people in the North Shore community of Pupukea have come to know.

"The girl, must have been the driver someone in the back seat of the convertible sitting kind of halfway between the car and half way in the car and she was smashed and I was talking to pull the door open and I heard voices and the radio going," Easley said.

Emergency crews used the jaws of life to cut the victim free.

"This morning I woke up with a phone call from friends," A friend of the victim, Marjorie Mariano said. "Got the bad news that she had a really bad car accident, in Pupukea and she was on the way to Queens hospital."

Margorie worked with the victim and says she has one hope.

"She will be okay to continue her life because she did wonderful things and we need wonderful people in this world," Mariano said.

"Everybody responded and everybody worked out good that's all that matters so hopefully she's alright what you say she's doing better and that's what matters," Easley said.

The Queens Medical Center says the victim is in guarded condition.
