EWA BEACH (KHNL) - A 65-year-old Ewa beach man is dead after he was stabbed by a 57-year-old man in Ewa Beach Tuesday night.

The incident happened at 6:10 p.m. on Pohukapuna Road. Police officers said the suspect fled the scene but they caught up with him and took him into custody. They have also recovered the weapon believed to have been used in the attack.

Long time neighbor Christopher Wolfe said the victim and the suspect were related. He also said he saw the two men together about a half hour before emergency crews arrived at their home.

Shortly after, Wolf said he saw the victim in the yard. "I heard the ambulance come first, police, then they found mister Alonzo in the yard with stab wounds," said Wolfe. "He was bleeding real bad and the person that did it, - his brother, was running down the road and the police caught up with him."

Then after the victim was stabbed, paramedics rushed the him to an area hospital in critical condition, where he later died. Investigators have not yet confirmed the name of the victim.

Major Alan Bluemke of the Honolulu Police Department said, "It's a family relations. Details are unclear at this time but they are related family-wise."

The case is being investigated as a homicide.

It's the 13th homicide on Oahu so far this year.
