Woman dies after exiting from vehicle on H1

HONOLULU (KHNL) - Honolulu police need your help after an incident on the H-1 Freeway Monday morning left an 18-year-old Ewa beach woman dead.

The incident happened in the west bound lanes just before the Kamehameha Highway over pass.

Police say the victim was a passenger in a car driven by a 26-year-old male .

She was run over by an SUV after she flew out of the car she was in.

"We're asking for witnesses, anybody who saw the vehicle prior to the collision, please call us at 529-3499," said Captain Frank Fujii with the Honolulu Police Department.  "The vehicle is a 2000 mercury, silver in color bearing Hawaii license plates."

No arrests have been made at this time.

Police say alcohol and speed do not appear to be factors in the early morning accident.
