Two floors evacuated from Salt Lake high rise

SALT LAKE (KHNL) - A Salt Lake condominium had to be evacuated Thursday afternoon because of a call that came in to the Honolulu Fire Department.

An unidentified tenant of the building made the call to the fire department reporting that insecticide fumes were coming from a unit on the 28th floor.

Fire officials evacuated two floors of the 29 story, Five Regent Condos on Ala Illima Street as they investigated the cause of the odor.

Upon further investigation, the fire officials soon realized the noxious smell was not from an insecticide but rather from a filthy apartment.

No one injuries were reported.
