(KHNL) - She qualified for a record 5th Olympic games in stunning fashion.
However, 41-year-old American swimmer Dara Torres realizes her body isn't what it used to be.
After winning the U.S. Swim trials in both the 50 meter and 100 meter freestyles last week, Torres announces Monday she's dropping her 100 meter race to focus on the 50 meter sprint.
Torres expresses concern that competing in two individual events and competing in possibly two relay events would be too much for her body to handle.
The swimming portion of the games extends over an eight day period.
She says it's more of a mental issue than a physical one.
And a reminder.
