HONOLULU (KHNL) - Ralph Nader is coming to Hawaii. The Independent U.S. Presidential Candidate will be holding a news conference and campaign rally on Thursday, July 3 at the University of Hawaii at Manoa.
His visit aims to address issues that he feels presidential nominees, Obama and McCain have taken off the table.
Some of the issues Nader will put back on the table include withdrawing the military from Iraq, creating an energy policy that supports renewable, sustainable, energy efficient sources and putting an end to corporate crime.
As a lawyer and author of several books, Ralph Nader is known as being a strong consumer advocate. He is the founder of a variety of organizations including the Public Interest Research Group (PRIG), Clean Water Action Project, and The Disability Rights Center among others.
His news conference is scheduled at 7:30pm at the UH, Art Building Auditorium, followed by an 8pm campaign rally.
The event is $10/$5 for students.
