WAIKIKI (KHNL) - Honolulu police are investigating the death of a man found at Kapiolani Park Friday morning.

Police say the man was found just before noon near the archery range.

They describe the body as Asian male, 40 to 50 years old.

Passerby's found the man lying face down.

Investigators say he's possibly homeless.

Residents in the area say their neighborhood is safe and quiet and it's unusual that a body would be found near their home.

"Blown away. I just figured that there was some pile of stuff over there. I didn't realize," said Waikiki resident Denise Despars.  "I just happen to come out cleaning my yard. He told me that there was some kind of activity going on over here but it's shocking."

Officers found injuries on the body that appear suspicious.

Investigators have classified this case as unattended death.
