Maui police arrest robbery suspect

LAHAINA, Maui (KHNL) - Maui police arrested a Lahaina man suspected of committing four counts of robberies on the westside of Maui.

Police say during the robberies, James Thobe produced a note and displayed a small box of wire and electrical tape.  The most recent incident happened on Monday, June 9 at the American Savings Bank on Papalua Street in Lahaina.

Police later traced the moped used in the getaway to Thobe.

Thobe was arrested at a Kaanapali residential condominium.

He remains in custody on $200,000 bail.
