Tantalus Triple Murder Suspect Indicted in New Case

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- The suspect in a triple murder at a Tantalus lookout nearly two years ago is in more legal trouble.

An Oahu grand jury on Wednesday indicted Adam Mau on multiple assault charges. He's accused of grabbing a pen and stabbing a guard at the Oahu Community Correctional Center.

Mau is already accused of fatally shooting a cab driver and a Kapahulu couple in July 2006. He's also charged with tying up three people during a home invasion shortly after the shootings.

Defense attorneys say Mau has a documented history of paranoid schizophrenia. Earlier this year, a Circuit Court judge ruled he's mentally unfit to stand trial.
