ME Orders More Tests in Deadly North Shore Crash

HONOLULU (KHNL) -- An autopsy on Tuesday revealed the driver in Saturday's car crash on Oahu's North Shore died from multiple traumatic injuries. But the Medical Examiner is ordering more tests to determine whether drugs played a role.

Police say a car was speeding on Kamehameha Highway before it slammed into a concrete barrier. The 30-year-old man behind the wheel died at the scene.

Sources say the Medical Examiner's office found a glass pipe containing a leafy substance resembling marijuana on the driver.

The ME is still working to notify his family before it releases a positive identification.
