Hawaii No Longer Highest Gas State

(KHNL) -- Hawaii no longer has the highest gas prices in the country.

Triple "A" which tracks prices daily, shows the current national average for a gallon of regular unleaded is $3.94.

Alaska has the highest average price at $4.22.

Connecticut is second at $4.15, followed by California at $4.12.

Three states: Illinois, Michigan and New York tie for fourth highest, at $4.11.

The Aloha State is in fifth place with an average of $4.06.

Wyoming has the lowest average price at $3.74 a gallon.

Remember these are state-wide averages and here in Hawaii, many neighbor island stations have prices between $4.25 and close to $5.00.
