HONOLULU (KHNL) -- Two Honolulu attorneys announced settlement of a class action lawsuit against pet food manufacturer Menu Food for selling contaminated pet food to Hawaii pet owners last year.
Thomas Grande of Grande Law Offices and Emily Gardner of Clay Chapman Crumpton Iwamura & Pulice say they are pleased with the settlement which sets up a $240,000 fund.
The fund will reimburse the cost of recalled pet food as well as veterinary examinations that were conducted to verify the health of pets following Menu Food's announcement of its recall.
Grande says the settlement is only for owners of pets that did not suffer injury or die. He says cases in which pets became ill or died are being handled separately in state court.
