KEWALO BASIN (KHNL) -- We've got more good news on the monk seal pup abandoned by its mother on Kauai.
The pup is feeding well. He was physically active as he swam in his pool Tuesday. He has gained weight and is 35 pounds.
NOAA Fisheries and Marine Mammals Center staff have changed the formula being fed to the monk seal.
They are hoping the change is responsible for the weight gain.
