First U.S. Aircraft Delivers Humanitarian Assistance to Burma

CAMP H.M. SMITH (KHNL) -- A U.S. military aircraft loaded with emergency relief supplies departed Thailand at 12:45 p.m. (local) for Rangoon International airport, in support of national disaster relief efforts following Cyclone Nagris that recently swept through Burma.

The aircraft, loaded with 8,300 water bottles, two pallets of mosquito nets and a pallet of blankets, is the first of three flights approved by the Burmese government.
